Athlete on a bike during a sprint interval

You train strength, engine and speed. Your breathing trains itself.

Under load most athletes start to overbreathe long before they notice it. The pattern follows them out of the session, into recovery and into sleep.

This course is not about controlling your breath or calming the session down. It is about noticing what happens, early, and building a relationship with your breath that you can use on the bike, the rower, the sled or under the bar.

What is inside

One training day, three practices

Before

Prime

A short practice to arrive in the session with energy and with your breath on your side.

During

Breathe inside the work

Recognise overbreathing early in intervals and zone 2, and use the breath hold cue between efforts.

After

Down regulate

The part most athletes skip and the one that matters most for recovery.

For people who train

  • Hybrid athletes mixing strength, running, cycling and intervals
  • HYROX, CrossFit and endurance athletes
