Breathing for leaders

The leaders we work with are good at what they do. What most of them haven't noticed is how much the way they breathe shapes how they perform.

Why

Another level, not a fix.

Leaders don't need fixing. They need a way to train it.

How clearly you think at the end of a long day. How fast you recover between hard meetings. How you respond when the pressure rises. Breathing sits underneath all three.

Breathing is a behaviour. It's learned, it adapts to how you live, and it can be trained back. When you overbreathe under pressure, carbon dioxide in the blood drops, and the prefrontal cortex is one of the first places it shows: the part you rely on for the hard decisions.

  • You stop before you react
  • You hold focus when it's noisy
  • You think clearly under pressure
  • You tolerate discomfort without it running you
How it works

Two disciplines, one progression

Weekly · onlineGabriella Svanberg

ACT with Gabriella

One skill a week from Acceptance and Commitment Training: stopping, seeing thoughts as thoughts, meeting discomfort and acting on what matters.

Weekly · studioA breathing session at Hale Concept Studio

Breathing with Johnny

The week's skill taken into the body at Hale Concept Studio in Stockholm, Regeringsgatan 78.

Every day · Hale AppBreathing practice in the Hale App

Daily practice

A few minutes of guided breathing tied to the week's theme, so the work continues between sessions.

Measured

You see the change on paper

A participant breathing calmly in the studio

Before week one and after week six, each leader does a private assessment with Johnny in the studio.

  • Capnography: breathing behaviour at rest, under load and in recovery
  • HRV: how the nervous system recovers and adapts
  • A self-assessment of clarity, focus, recovery and handling pressure
